Counseling for my daughter.

I have been living in the country for several years, I have been awarded refugee status with my daughter. I think she is mentally suffering from our experiences in Kinshasa. Is there any way I can get access to free counseling for her?

NHS free counselling

Anonymous — Sun, 04/11/2010 - 12:09

Hi,

The NHS offers free counselling. Ask your GP to refer your daughter for this service. Unfortunately the counselling is not long-term, I think they continue for 6 weeks however depending on the circumstances they might extend this. I would definitely have a chat with your daughter's doctor. Alternatively, I would ask any refugee support organisations in your area as they might provide that service or know of organisations that do provide free counselling.

I hope this helps.

Hi, you can try this organisation which provide support to people who have been subjected to torture and who are still suffering as a result.
