Firstly, your case should be a legacy case. go to this page: http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/view/allocation_finder.form Put in your Home Office Ref No - usually a letter and seven numbers - it will tell you where your case is being looked at. Write to them with a contact address and any relevant information, for example if you have started a family here. They are looking at all the old cases again, with a view to resolving them all by June 2011 - either granting or removing. Second, if you have never had a refusal, you should ask for permission to work if you don't already have it. Write to the same address. JIM
