There are very good and proven guidelines at the National Coalition of Anti-Deportation Campaigns website: http://www.ncadc.org.uk/ Running your own campaign is a powerful tool, especially if it comes to fighting detention and deportation itself. You can't ever start too early! It means making your story public, though, but you will be amazed at the wonderful support you can get through this.
