"Muted Cry" is an evening of theatre and discussion on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)
This is a play by the OCEAN Somali Community Association in partnership with FORWARD
‘Muted Cry’ is based on information and testimonies gathered from women participating in the project 'Community Against FGM'. The play will be performed in English and the cast is from a diverse ethnic background.
The play will be followed by a panel which will discuss the issues raised by the play. The panel will be chaired by writer Idil Osman and will include Leyla Hussein, Psychotherapist and Co-founder of the ‘Daughters of Eve’, Comfort Momoh MBE, FGM/Public Health specialist at African Well Women’s clinic,Guys & St. Thomas Hospital, Saria Khalifa, Youth Programmes Coordinator at FORWARD.
