Mothers’ Vigil (London)
Mothers’ Vigil (London)
Event Date:
Thursday, 22 July 2010 A Mothers’ Vigil is being held by the Mothers' Campaign for Family Reunion (MoCa) and Single Mothers' Self Defence to support Peace Musabi, one of MoCa’s founder members, who is fighting to be reunited with her children.
Seven years ago, Ms Musabi fled rape and other torture in Burundi after being forced to leave her three surviving children in the care of a trusted friend. Ms Musabi searched relentlessly for her children, and two years ago found them safe in Uganda. She has been pressing the Home Office to allow the children to join her, but so far they have refused. This vigil is in support of Ms Musabi's reunion with her children.
