The Testimony Project provides a voice for refugee women and the organisations that support them.
Mission and values
Mission and values
Our mission:
- To tell the stories that need to be told.
- To raise awareness of the human cost of seeking asylum in the UK.
- To promote a positive image of asylum seekers.
- To provide a safe space for refugee women to share stories, get information and make connections.
Our values:
Practical
Easy to use and to access, The Testimony Project website is practical, pragmatic and straightforward. Ease of use and accessibility are paramount.
Outspoken
The Testimony Project gives refugee women and women seeking asylum a safe place in which to share stories, ideas and information and seeks to put this community in touch with the wider community, including politicians and the media.
Women
The Testimony Project focuses on women because they are the most at risk in the UK's asylum-seeking process, and most responsible for children, who also suffer disproportionately. However, the information available online is also relevant to and useful for men in similar circumstances.
