How do I apply for a British Passport?

I recently came into the country through the help of some friends, but the problem is I was born here have my birth certificate to prove it but don't know how to go about applying for it.  My mother gave birth to me while she was a refugee in the country but left before I was able to get any documents, if anyone knows how I can get help please respond, your help will be really appreciated.

The UK Border Agency website has some useful information on how to apply for a passport, type 'passport' into the search bar: http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/

If your mother is a refugee I suggest you obtain a copy of her refugee certificate. I also suggest that you obtain legal advice on your situation. There are some useful threads on this forum which provide details of who you can contact for free legal advice.

I hope that this helps.
