I am from Pakistan, and came here with my husband. We have 2 children. My husband is not a good man, he gets very angry. And he hits me. It is a long story, but I need help urgently. I want to leave but do not no my rights or where I can get help. If I leave I am worried he will follow and take the children from me. I do not have money for solicitor. Please help!

Domestic violence

Hello,
I hope you are ok - that sounds terrible.
It depends where you are in the country but there are organisations who will help you. There is a charity called Women's Aid who have a free 24 hour domestic violence helpline so you can call them on 0808 2000 247 or email on helpline@womensaid.org.uk. On the website there is also a section where you can find a domestic violence service which is in your region and also refuges which are safe places for you and your children to go to. There is also a survivor's forum a bit like this one where you can met others who are suffering like you and you can support and help each other.
I hope this helps. If you reply and tell me your area then I can look up the nearest refuge for you. Take care of yourself.
