Do I have any legal rights which can protect me against domestic violence

Hello my husband hits me not very often but hits me and I want it to stop. I am not sure if I want to leave him I saw a post about refuges but I'm not sure I want to go to one of them yet. Do I have any legal rights? Is there a way I can stop him from beating me?

Domestic violence

Hi,
It can be a big and difficult decision to leave a violent partner so while you are thinking about what you want to do you could visit a free drop in domestic violence advice session. They hold these at Mackesys solicitors, a firm of family and children's solicitors. All the advisors are female and you can just turn up without an appointment.

The times for these are on Wednesdays between 10am and 1pm at
Mackesys
7 Lewisham Way
New Cross
London SE14 6PP.
