Care Alliance Refugee Project

Here you can get advice, guidance and information on employment and training. This organisation will arrange referrals for advice and support in immigration and nationality, health, housing and welfare rights. Languages spoken include Swahili and Arabic and opening hours are Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm.

Community Action Network – Enterprise & Employment for Refugees

This organisation provides advice on business and social enterprise start-up, including workshops and one-to-one advice and mentoring. It also provides funding for childcare and access to business loans if you are unable to access mainstream lending. Phone or write for an appointment. Opening times are Monday - Friday, 9am-6pm.

Education Action International's Refugee Training and Advice Service (RETAS)

If you are marginalized by conflict or displacement, this organisation provides training to help improve your life. Employment and education advice online is also available. Opening hours are Mon-Fri, 9:30am - 5:30pm.

Job Centres

Job Centres are government agencies that can help you back into work by providing advice and information about job vacancies. They also offer advice about work-related benefits.

Nextstep London Central

Nextstep provides help with CVs, career change, training and job searching. You can also get free, impartial and confidential information and advice on the telephone number below. Staff may guide you to services provided across London through a network of partner agencies. The website contains information about advice centres, courses, training and CV assistance.

North Kensington Opportunities Centre

This Centre provides advice on employment and training as well as assistance with CVs and application forms. You can also use their computer, internet, fax, phone and photocopier for employment and training purposes. Visit the centre or phone for an appointment. Opening hours are Monday - Thursday, 9:30am-1 pm and 2pm-5pm.

OLMEC – Solid Foundations Project

This project offers structured work placements and training to build your confidence in gaining employment. Help towards cost of childcare and travel may be available. You can also get advice on CV preparation, job applications and interview skills. Languages spoken include Hindi, Punjabi, Edu and Urdu. Opening hours are Monday - Friday 9:30am-5:30pm. Refugee Council Learning and Integration Unit

If you have refugee status, you can get work-related training such as work placements and employment support workshops, IT training and mentoring. There is also English language training on offer as well as workshops on financial literacy depending on your eligibility.

This organisation provides information if you have refugee status and wish to set up a business. Visit the website for detailed information and toolkits.

Refugees Into Jobs

This organisation provides information, advice and guidance on employment and assesses your skills and matches them to current UK job opportunities. There is also a dedicated drop-in service, known as the Job Club where you can search for a job with the help of an adviser. A grant scheme is also available to help you with expenses for travel, materials, childcare, exam and tuition fees while undertaking training.

Tracks Triangle (Track to Employment)

This organisation provides advice and guidance on employment and training and runs an employment brokerage scheme if you live in Islington and Camden.
