This section provides information on opportunities for learning and education, including English classes, in London. Where available, we’ve also included information on child care facilities and cost. It’s only intended an introduction, so you’ll need to contact the individual organisations for full details. Camden and Westminister Refugee Training Partnership
This organisation provides advice on employment for those living in the boroughs of Camden and Westminster. There is also a Saturday school available for your children. English as a Second Language (ESOL) training courses to NVQ levels 1-4 are also available as well as help with childcare contributions and travel expenses. Languages spoken include Amharic, Arabic, Bosnian, Somali and there is access to interpreters. Access is available by appointment only on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9am-5pm; Tuesday 10am-4pm.

Care Alliance Refugee Project
This project offers advice on employment and training and will arrange referrals for advice and support in immigration and nationality, health, housing and welfare rights. Languages spoken include Swahili and Arabic, and opening hours are Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm.

Education Action (RETAS)
Education Action provides specialised support and advice on education, employment and training for asylum seekers and refugees in the UK. They have specialised courses and drop in advice sessions for refugee health professionals and engineers. They also run business start-up courses.
Fairbridge in London
This organisation offers advice and a personal development programmes those between 13-25 years old who are not in education, training or employment. There are six-day group work and residential courses on offer with a range of activities including sport, art, business and internet courses. Opening times are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.

Migrant and Refugee Communities Forum
This organisation provides advice, support and advocacy for refugees and asylum seekers who are qualified healthcare professionals. IELTS English classes (free of charge) are also available as well as clinical training for doctors and dentists. Opening hours are Monday-Friday 9.30am-5pm.

Refugees with high levels of education or professional qualifications can access specialist training programmes, work placement schemes and get advice on job searching in the UK.

For those with refugee status work-related training such as work placements and employment support workshops, IT training and mentoring is on offer. There is also English language training as well as workshops on financial literacy available. Subject to eligibility.
